Hibachi Shrimp and Vegetables

Updated: Jun 1, 2021

Who doesn't love a good stir fry? Who doesn't love hibachi Japanese steakhouse food? If you're like me, you love the lightly seasoned yet flavorful variety of meat and vegetable stir fries that are served at Japanese steakhouses. I'm addicted to Japanese fried rice as well as the simple hibachi stir fried shrimp and vegetable combo. I made this recipe for the times when I'm craving Japanese steakhouse food but don't have the opportunity or time to go. I'm happy to share this recipe so that other people can easily get the taste of the Japanese steakhouses without having to leave their home. (Their fried rice is still the best though!)

As always, feel free to try different vegetables and meats with this recipe! Some suggestions:

-yellow squash

-bell peppers

-chicken

-steak

-mung bean sprouts

-bok choy

Ingredients:

- 1/2 lb. medium or large shrimp

-1 chopped zucchini

-1 cup broccoli chopped into small pieces

-1/2 cup chopped baby bella mushrooms

-1/2 cup chopped carrots

-1/2 cup chopped yellow onions

-2 tbs. lemon juice

-3 tbs. soy sauce

-1 tbs. oyster sauce (I use Lee Kum Kee)

-1 tbs. sesame oil

-1 tbs. mirin

-salt and pepper to taste

-2 tbs. olive oil

-rice for serving

Steps:

  1. Heat the olive oil on high heat in a wok or large pan. Add all ingredients except the shrimp and cook for 8-10 minutes until the zucchini and broccoli start to get tender. Add the shrimp and cook until they turn pink. Serve with rice. Enjoy!
